The launch of the Light In Winter Festival's Gift of Light takes place this coming Saturday. Join the celebrations at BMW Edge Theatre from 3.30pm. All welcome!

On Saturday June 21, Federation Square will host the Gift of Light - an event celebrating light and enlightenment. Light-based art installations have been devised by 9 local artists in consultation with different cultural communities. Melbourne’s community is invited to share in this celebration with music and performance - on the Winter Solstice – the longest night of the year. This is the online home of the Turkish component of the Gift of Light. The project is a collaboration between the Australian Turkish Cultural Platform and media artist Pip Shea for the Light in Winter Festival at Melbourne's Federation Square in June 2008. The Gift of Light will be a series of light based installations responding to the significance of light in various cultures.
