From site member Jane Blight, author of "The Orient Expressed: Istanbul and Beyond":
The gift of light came from love. It flowed from the skies into our upturned faces to reside in our hearts. You can see it each time you look into the eyes of a child playing their favourite game, you can see it reflected in the colour of the rose petals or the red poppies which grow so abundantly in spring time. Light is reflected in the lakes, off the melting snow and onto our tired limbs, bringing warmth and contentment. Light glows from the fires which cook our bread, spreads through the flow of conversations shining in eyes, gestures and laughter repeating itself in a never ending circle of love. Light is life, live it, love it.
